More images from the last visit of the year by the cruise ship "MS Eurodam". And some days you just never know what you may find. While in the bank parking lot I see and hear a commotion in Harbor Cove. I drive over for a closer look and I see mini tugs circling around tooting their horns like a cowboy roundup on the water! The wind was strong and white caps were in the inner harbor and thought a boat was in trouble. Just as I grab my camera they headed towards the head of the harbor and out of view. Back in my truck I caught up with them behind Cruiseport Gloucester. And on a trailing boat I see a film crew and another on one of the tugs. Why they were filming I don't have a clue but when they made passes by the 128' tug "Independence" I knew it was a comparison shot.
"Yankee" as I depart Smith Cove.
Masts and tails!
The turned up bow of the "Andrea Lynn" passes "The Fort".
"Ardelle" catches the breeze.
Lobster boat heads in with "MS Eurodam" in the distance.
Massive bow!
Gloucester in the background.
Approaching me.
Mini Tug "Atlantic Hunter II" followed by "Toot Toot"!

Film crew aboard.
Choppy conditions
A look at the pilot house.
If you look close at "Toot Toot" you'll see an over sized toy wind up key on the stern just to the right of the flag!

I saw this three mini-tugs toodling around the harbor, heading out to go up the cut. I think if you really want one, you'll have to build it. If you google "Seahorse tug Bolton, Connecticut". You will be directed to the company that owns the plans. Have fun!
Thanks Steve, I had to Goggle "Mini Tugs" to find the name of "Toot Toot" and saw the many sites devoted to mini tugs. Very interesting little detailed vessels! I think I could float "Toot Toot" in my fish pond!
