The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Chasing Sunsets and Being Chased!

March is usually a good month for sunsets and I could see one was shaping up. You need clouds, crisp air and a good spot to capture nature's light show. An added bonus was small distant scattered snow showers that fell all around. On my way to Eastern Point I ran into a group of turkeys. One big one, I guess he was the dominant turkey and he refused to get out of my way! As the others cleared the road this one pictured below stood guard. I decided to open my door figuring it would scare him away. It didn't work, he tried to get into my truck! Quickly I shut the door and I slowly backed up but he ran behind my truck! That's when I escaped, I hit the gas as he tried in vain to chase me further!

Let The Revitalization Begin!

This fisherman has stood watch over the harbor since 1923 and seen change in many ways. From sailing schooners to modern day fishing vessels from salted fish to frozen fish. He was there when Pavilion Beach had smoke houses, fishing shacks and boat building. And was there to see changing technology of Clarence Birdseye's innovation of frozen foods. He's help guide lost fishermen back home and has helped them on their final voyage. Now this fisherman will see another change as the old Birdseye plant will give way to Beauport Gloucester. A new hotel where visitors will see what this Fisherman will see. Fishing vessels, schooners and a myriad of other vessels departing and arriving in the Port of Gloucester.

The City Council recently voted unanimously to approve the construction of this hotel that will revitalize The Fort and the city. With it's conference component it will add much needed business infrastructure to help support Gloucester's commerce and possibly help attract new business ventures to our shore.

Weathering A Tempest!

Another storm hit, this one named "Saturn" tried it's best to batter the coast. It did a pretty good job but that's the coastal consequences of living here. Good Harbor beach lost from 2'to 4' layer of sand while in some places half the dunes were destroyed.
