The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

February Fury !

What a night it was, winds gusted to 80mph while sustained winds averaged 58mph! A satuating rain that softened the soil caused many trees around Cape Ann to fall. My house shook like it never shook before....well, since I added a second story in 2004. I was lucky, we only lost power for a few seconds....several times. The back yard willow tree lost a few branches and I had to look for the cover of my trash barrel. And most amazing is the cover on my boat weathered the storm with no problem! I awoke to the sounds of chain saws and the sound of a pretty rough surf along the shore. It's not easy to get around to see the damage and it's not a good idea. With many trees and power lines down many roads are closed. Taking photos of the surf was a challenge with a heavy salt mist all about but I tried the best I could.

Just Plain Miserable !

After being in the house with a bad cold for the past few days I had to get out. The weather was just as miserable as my cold, heavy rain and strong winds battering the coast. Instead of standing in this weather I took a few photos from the comfort of my pick-up truck.
And please don't forget to vote above for Gloucester's own "Jimmy T" for the next "Survivor" contestant!

February Views !

I've been battling a lousy cold the last few days and were only able to get out and take a few photos here and there. But hopefully now is the time of year to get over it for the warmer months. The other day the temps got into the 50's as crowds flocked to the beaches. As I was driving by Good Harbor Beach I clicked a few shots out the window(No place to park) I saw what I thought was a large dog! When I got home and downloaded the photos I realized there were a couple ponies or mini horses there!

Home Improvement....Gloucester Style !

Last week while snooping around the waterfront I found a houseboat that frequents the Annisquam River in the Summer sitting on the "Ways" at Rocky Neck Marine Railways. Home improvement with a different twist! While there, the landing craft "Goliath" which is used by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation was sitting in the slings of the boat lift.
