In photography some things you never plan on, at least that's how I end up taking pictures. Being at the right place at the right time all depends on may factors, even what's on my mind at the time. Sometimes I would miss a shot that would be interesting only because my focus was on another concern. Another factor I consider is after I download the memory card into my computer. What can I do to make the image as close as I see it with the naked eye. It is rare that the camera settings match up perfectly to what and how I wish to capture a subject. In August of 2009 I was driving through downtown and looked up at the City Hall Tower. The contrast between the tower and the sky was just right so I stopped on Dale Avenue and took several shots. Then I thought why not go inside and see if I could climb the tower! Mayor Carolyn Kirk was in her office and kindly gave me permission to do so. Climbing the rickety ladders was an adventure, it was interesting but my excitement of taking pictures from the very top was almost crushed! The windows looked like they were never cleaned from when City Hall was built in 1870! Over the past few years I learned new post editing techniques to save an image. The dirty windows created smudges and off lighting conditions that are difficult to correct but felt I needed another go at it, and this is the result.
I also added some Good Harbor Beach images that I suspect how God creates a painting!
