From 1982 until 2002 I was an assistant coach for the Manchester/Essex Hornets. For 20 years of my life I worked the sidelines loosing my voice mostly on muddy fields and having a blast most of the time. The Thanksgiving game is for the seniors for all their hard work and dedication to the team, school and a culmination of all of their hard work. This year snow had fallen the night before and during the warm ups much of the field was covered by snow. As the morning and game wore on, most of the snow vanished. With only 5 seniors the Hornets struggled this season but put up a great fight on this "Turkey Day". As a matter of fact they had a chance to tie and go ahead with the extra point kick if it weren't for a lucky bounce off a helmet into the arms of a Royal defender late in the game!
