This year my nephew Seth invited out in his boat to shoot the Parade of Sail. Right off the bat my camera 18mm - 55mm lens of choice failed me! The night before I readied my camera equipment by charging the batteries and cleaning the lenses. Looking through the view finder all I saw was a cloudy image. Cleaning that didn't change a thing but soon discovered cleaning solution was fogging inside the lens glass. I had to shoot using a 70mm-300mm zoom lens and because of that I had to ask Seth not to get too close to the schooners so I could fit them into the shot. He did a great job piloting among the spectator fleet which at times was chaotic. I can imagine the schooner captains having to do the same. There was one brief downpour but luckily didn't spoil the day.
