The weather was perfect for football and the grand opening of the New Balance Track & Field at Newell Stadium. Since 1933 Newell Stadium has seen its glory days reduced to a dangerous venue to play and watch sports.
Thanks to the efforts of Dick Wilson and Jonathan Pope of the Gloucester Fishermen Athletic Association and many many more the new revamped multi- sport facility is now a sports jewel again.
To top off a perfect night the Fishermen defeat the Lynn Classical Rams 15-14 in a hard fought game!
