The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Harbor Activity Picks Up !

I finally had a day off with only one boat bringing in fish. With grey skies building I headed out. It was a case of good timing, as soon as I got home the rains fell. While I was out a call to the Coast Guard came in on the vhf radio of a vessel taking on water in Sandy Bay off Rockport. Later a report that two were in the water.
UPDATE:
And a happy conclusion....Provided by the USCG:

BOSTON — The Coast Guard rescued two men after their pleasure boat sank about nine miles north of Rockport, Mass., Sat., May 29, 2010.
Coast Guard Station Gloucester received a cell phone call at 1:35 p.m., from the men reporting their boat, the 30-foot Happy Days, was taking on water. The station advised the men to put on their life jackets.

The boat sank shortly after and the men found themselves in 57-degree water.

Station Gloucester launched a 47-foot and 25-foot boat crew, Coast Guard Station Merrimack River dispatched a 47-foot boat crew and Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod sent an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and an HU-25 Falcon jet crew to search for the men.

The Coast Guard worked with the cell phone company to determine an approximate location of the men’s last known position.

The Falcon jet crew spotted the two men around 7 p.m. The 25-foot boat crew from Gloucester rescued the 62-year old and 34-year old men from the water and transferred them to the helicopter around 7:30 p.m. The helicopter transported the men to a local hospital.

“Luckily the two men were wearing life jackets,” said Ensign Marie Haywood. “The life jackets played a key role in helping the men stay afloat for the nearly six hours they spent in the 57-degree water.”

Morning Jay,

Yup, it's a little bit busy in the harbor alright! I'd think it would be really hectic today on the the waters of Gloucester. Yesterday was rather windy so I would imagine it kept some boats in.

I hope you and your family enjoy the day!

And the visability has been knocked down due to the Canadian wild fires coming from Quebec! This smoke is irritating, my eyes are burning!

I think it's a little better than it was this morning but it's still not good. Wonder how long the smoke will stick around?
