Fire and Daybreak!
Most time I post images from the past week but every so often a news item may be happening that I either stumble upon or have the time to check it out. Just after 5:00 pm Saturday I hear over the scanner a fire on Centennial Ave. here in Gloucester. It's a tight neighborhood which always reminds me of the opening scene of the 1970's TV show "All In the Family". When police arrived they reported heavy smoke, a short time later the arriving firefighters reported heavy fire showing from 2 houses possibly a third. Soon firefighters declared a 3rd alarm and by the time I arrived it was a 4 alarm fire. One house was destroyed while the second suffered heavy damage and the third home exterior heat damage along with interior smoke damage. Considering this fire had a fast head start in this tight neighborhood, the firefighting efforts prevented a far worse outcome. The best news of all....No one hurt!
