Many years ago I was involved in NASA's Space Shuttle program. In the scheme of things my part was just a tiny contribution. During the early years of the program NASA was having trouble opening the shuttle's cargo doors in space. Through the various temperature changes during launch ice would freeze the doors shut. To correct this the company I worked for developed a process using microwave technology to prevent the doors from freezing. One of our NASA colleagues sent me these amazing images from space that I found after I rediscovered what I thought were lost files.
Finding these images inspired me to get out and do some night shots. In one of them you can just about see the rings of Saturn!
