The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

I'm All Wet !

Wet as in...the boat is launched! Getting out of the driveway was intense, with a construction dumpster in the way I figured a little push from my truck to move it about two feet would give me enough room to get out. The plan was to install the trailer hitch into the receiver and place some wooden blocks between that and the dumpster. Everything went according to plan except one thing....it wouldn't budge! Even in four wheel drive low gear and nothing! Plan "B"....Trim trees and shrubs, and that's what I had to do to get the boat out of the driveway.
Now for my launching check list:
1) Secure stern straps to trailer
2)Check trailer lights
3)Install the boat's electronics and run a check
4)Lower VHF antenna
5)Re-install bilge plug(#1 priority)
I checked all the safety gear a few days earlier.

I backed down the ramp and the tide was perfect, she floated free right away. It took two turns of the key and the engine fired up. Then park the truck and trailer. Total time from backing down the ramp and shoving off....six minutes! As I headed down the Blynman Canal towards the bridge the tide was rising. I lowered the VHF antenna and made it under the bridge with about two feet to spare. The outer harbor was "snotty" with a stiff SE wind. After I tied up at the dock and secured everything I headed home for a late dinner. My slip is in shallow water at low tide, about 6-8 inches of water and as I was reflecting how well the launching went I realized I forgot to do one thing before leaving the boat.....tilt the outboard out of the water! Wolf down dinner, hop in my truck,go down to the dock and lift the outboard! And thanks to my nephew Seth for giving me a hand in the launching, I'm now ready for summer!

Rock ON!

Man, it was like summer would never get here, then it was like someone flipped the switch. Two great days in a row!

Yesterday though was a bit breezy. I just got back from the boat doing some more cleaning and fixing a loose wire to the VHF radio. I was also checking low tide. The boat bottomed out @ 2:55pm while low tide is @ 4:01. Where I'm at now I'll have to keep a tide chart with me. When leaving it can be no later than 1 hr & 15 min. before low tide. But I'll give myself 2 hrs to dock before low tide.

What a great day for a launch! Hopefully the weather will cooperate so you can get out there a bit this week-end. I sure do wish my parents still had their boat. Portsmough harbor was so beautiful from a water view.
