After a day of drenching drizzle and rain I headed down to Bass Rocks then over to the Dog Bar Breakwater to see how the surf was doing. It was doing well as the tide was retreating, but small craft had a tough time negotiating the swells.
Big rollers head in!
Crash on the rocks!
Explosive!
More rollers!
Getting too close!
Waves move in!
"Michael & Kristen" heads out!
"Michael & Kristen"!
Bow gets buried!
Lobster boat "Gillian Anne" tackles the sea!
In the trough!
Rough ride!
Cutting through!
Boston in the distance!
Getting closer to home!
Retreating waters!
Breaching the breakwater!
Over the top!
Eastern Point Light!
A little closer!
Top of the light!

All I know is thank god I didn't have to be out in one of those boats! Not for me, nope. Those certainly are rough seas, but quite beautiful too.
Btw, that's an awesome shot at the top of the page of the Eastern Point Lighthouse!
Thanks Sharon! I was on the breakwater when those boats went by and had to keep an eye on the surf...If not I could become lobster bait!
Great shots Jay. What are you nuts walking the breakwater in weather like that? (I've done it many times myself)..........LOL
I saw the waves breaking towards Magnolia and desparately wanted to go out shooting, but alas, I had to work yesterday.
What wonderful lighting!
The clouds were retreating as I got to the breakwater. I guess timing is everything with lighting! When I walked out on the breakwater and looked back at the lighthouse it was almost as if God moved the clouds back with his hand and said "Quick...snap some pictures now"!
Your like Moses or something, only the sky parts instead of the sea! LOL! Glad you weren't lobster bait.
Great shots Jay...
I hope your Halloween had more treats than tricks for you :)
Kathy :)
