The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Just One of Those Days!

I went out the other day for the sole purpose of looking for subjects to shoot. The sky conditions were good but I just couldn't find anything that interested me. I suppose it was a photographers version of "writers block". I'm the type who sees something and points and shoot, no pre-planning, if it looks right..... fire away. So it was back to my files to see if something would inspire me and instead of going out again I spent parts of the weekend re-tweaked and picked out slightly different photos of the past.

Give a Dog a Beach!

You can give a dog a bone and it will be happy. Give a dog a beach it will be ecstatic! My beagle Molly is 13 years old and when she hits the beach she's a born again puppy! The wide open spaces with happy dogs romping all around it's their time to shine and what a day for it. With January winding down the temps were in the mid 50's, I just had to get the dog and go to Good Harbor Beach. All I have to do is say the word "beach" and she's at the door then makes a bee line to the truck.

Here's a happy dog with it's own set of wheels!

No problem getting around!

Running and rolling along!

Sand Castle

When the tide comes in it's gone.

These sewer discs still show up!

Painting an Image!

Recently I received an email from Michael Centrella an artist from Connecticut. He has used some of my images to paint from. Sometimes when I look at a subject to shoot I think of it as a painting, perhaps as an artist would trying to match the actual vision with what paints to smear on the palette. What Mr. Centrella does with canvas makes me feel as if I cheated with just a simple click!

Also I headed to a few of my East Gloucester haunts to capture the recent snow fall.

This Time the Snow Stuck !

A snow less Winter no more! Though it was only an inch or so here the cold temperatures assured it would last at least 24 hours. The previous snow fall this winter stuck around for only a few hours. More snow is forecast this weekend but only a few inches or so.
