The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

That Time of Year....Boys of Summer & Brush Fires!

With dry and windy conditions the last 4 or 5 days the conditions are ripe for brush fires and vivid colors. Driving around Saturday looking for something to shoot I happened to see a Little League game at Wilson Field. It was opening day as the Giants and Marlins were playing. On Sunday about 6:00pm a call came in for a brush fire on Poles Hill. Normally I wouldn't go to cover a brush fire but the first responders said it was "ripping pretty good" and more man power was required. My in-laws home is close to where the fire was heading and I knew they weren't at home. Just in case I headed over there....with my camera. It's midnight as I prepare this post and over the scanner I hear that the fire rekindled. Firefighters are back on the job.

Sun & Fog & Demolished McDonald's!

It took a long time for Gloucester to get into the modern world by having our very own McDonald's. For teens growing up in my era, a trip "ova the bridge" had McDonald's on the itinerary. In the mid 80's Gloucester finally had their Big Mac, shake and fries fix. This McDonald's was built on a swamp, settling occurred over the years and now it's in a swamp! Any heavy rain produces flooding. It didn't surprise me when I drove by the other day to see it being demolished. For what I understand the property will be raised and a new McDonald's will rise ABOVE the swamp!

As I type the rain is coming down in sheets. It's been so long we've had rain, clouds of dust was kicked up by my lawn mower as I cut the lawn the other day. This is a mix of images from this past week and older images I culled from my files.
