The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Sunrise and Sunset!

On my way home from work I stopped by Good Harbor Beach to see what the morning light had to offer. Without thinking I grabbed my camera, aimed and fired away. With a small viewing screen the first image just didn't look right, two white blobs were on the screen and I knew it was over exposed. I forgot to check the camera settings but luckily I only took that one picture and I was able to "rescue" the image after downloading.

The Sky Can Make the Photo!

Sometimes I won't bother taking a pic due to how the sky looks. Solid cloud cover or lack there of can leave me uninterested depending on the main subject I'm looking at. The night has its own quirks. That depends on the subject and available light which can mean a flash, flashlight, street lights or a bright moon. The photo I begin this post with of the Coast Guard Cutter Grand Isle I used an open shutter then quickly passed the beam of a flash light from bow to stern. The next one the full moon supplied most of the light, however I used a flashlight on the lobster boat.

Spring Is Really Here!

Mother's Day and Summer like weather! So far Spring has been more like late Fall and in one day it was more like Summer with temps in the mid 70's. My wife and I took the dogs for a walk down to Pirates Lane. Then later I went to Rocky Neck to get some pics at dusk.

Fog and a Large Visitor!

Fog is always an interesting challenge, and with plenty of foggy days along the coast I'm always looking for ways to use it. On Sunday The MS Veendam of the Holland American Lines visited Gloucester. She is 719' in length and a passenger capacity of 1350. The ship has been renovated since her last stop here. An added deck and a duck tail stern to improve stability.
