It started October of 2004 when the cruise ship "Rotterdam" anchored in Gloucester Harbor for a trial run. It's Fall foilage season in New England and with that the cruise ship industry has targeted our port as one of their ports of call. With the completion of Cruiseport Gloucester last year ships of all sizes have made a stop. Today the "MS Fram" a ship that travels from pole to pole made a visit. Last December she lost power in Antartica and was damaged when she hit an iceberg! One of her lifeboats was crushed while the hull suffered minor damage. No one was hurt but as the incident was taking place the captain ordered an open bar for the passengers!
