The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Threatening Skies !

It was one of those...better check the radar days that has been the theme for this summer. Friday is usually a good time for me to hit the water. I'm out of work by noontime, grab lunch and head down to the boat.Less pleasure boaters and weekend warriors to contend with make calmer seas. And it doesn't matter where I look because every day in the harbor is different. It's a fluid landscape in more ways than one. Today I bumbed into waterfront buisnessman and harbor & community advocate Joe C. of Capt. Joe & Sons.Joe is also the author of the popular blog "Good Morning Gloucester"!(Check the link in my links section)And yes Joe,your pic is the obligatory Capt. Joe & Sons photo!
Another interesting sight had my mind spinning for awhile. Over the years I knew somewhere in my memory bank there was the name of a lobster boat "Chassea". For some reason I was thinking the hull was dark. But every time I would go through Smiths Cove there it was....with a white hull. Well today while I was heading back into the harbor I spot the lobster boat "Chassea" dark hull! "Wait a minute" I said to myself, didn't I see a white hull "Chassea" as I headed out of Smiths Cove today"? As it turns out there are two Chassea's!
And in closing.....About 10 minutes after I secured the boat for the day,the skies opened up with a crash of thunder and a brief shower.

Actually, I know of another Chassea --- it's sitting on the bottom of the ocean about 5 miles off Good Harbor Beach.

Joe, you're still cute.
