The Annual Fishermen's Memorial Service is a heart felt tribute to the 10,000 Gloucester fishermen lost to the sea. This past year three more of Gloucester's "Finest kind" who were lost were also honored. Duane "Charlie" Rine, 51 of the vessel "Western Venture" who was lost while diving in an attempt to remove gear from the boat's propeller,Giuseppe "Joe" Cracchiolo, 47 from the vessel "Sunlight" who slipped and fell from a icy ramp while boarding the vessel and Peter Prybot, 63 who fell off his lobster boat outside Rockport harbor.
It will be 20 years this coming October when the Andrea Gail was lost with all hands. The daughters of Captain "Billy" Tyne, Billie-Jo Tyne Fintel and Erica Tyne DiSanto were the guest speakers and shared an emotional tribute of their dad.
