The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Stubborn Fire Ravages Law Firm !

About 6:00am a call came in for a fire on Pleasant St. at the law offices of Schlicte Johnstone & Henry. The three alarm fire looked under control around 8:15am when it erupted again. The fire was finally declared under control at 10:57am.

Breaking through the brick wall.

Laying hose.

Fire behind fence.

Fire showing.

Fire through the roof.

Getting water on it.

Rockport Engine 1

Drowning a fire.

Main and Pleasant streets.

Manchester ladder.

Sun behind the smoke.

Through the smoke and spray.

Tight quarters.

Hauling hose.

Smoke billows above.

Three streams.

Manchester Ladder looms over town.

Water floods Main St.

Yours are the best photos of the event, Jay. You captured far more action and conveyed far more of the drama than any of the others I've seen. (GDT included.)

Nice job.

Great pics Jay. Kind of reminds me of the old days when you could get the whole story just by looking at Jack Caissie and Charlie Lowe photos! I always enjoy looking at your photos as they're usually the best!

Thanks all!
I try to allow the photos tell the story and Steve you are right! I grew up seeing Charlie and Jack's work. I'm sure their techniques rubbed off on me.

Terrible loss, but not as devastating as the Lorraine. I grew up in the Lorraine, and to me, that was a dreadful loss, especially given that it took the temple as well. Too much of that these days. If this was arson, catching the person will not bring back the building, but hopefully save another.
