About 6:00am a call came in for a fire on Pleasant St. at the law offices of Schlicte Johnstone & Henry. The three alarm fire looked under control around 8:15am when it erupted again. The fire was finally declared under control at 10:57am.
Breaking through the brick wall.
Laying hose.
Fire behind fence.
Fire showing.
Fire through the roof.
Getting water on it.

Main and Pleasant streets.
Manchester ladder.
Sun behind the smoke.
Through the smoke and spray.
Tight quarters.
Hauling hose.
Smoke billows above.
Three streams.
Manchester Ladder looms over town.
Water floods Main St.

Great pics Jay. Kind of reminds me of the old days when you could get the whole story just by looking at Jack Caissie and Charlie Lowe photos! I always enjoy looking at your photos as they're usually the best!

I try to allow the photos tell the story and Steve you are right! I grew up seeing Charlie and Jack's work. I'm sure their techniques rubbed off on me.
Terrible loss, but not as devastating as the Lorraine. I grew up in the Lorraine, and to me, that was a dreadful loss, especially given that it took the temple as well. Too much of that these days. If this was arson, catching the person will not bring back the building, but hopefully save another.
