Flying like a bird....I bet most of us just wished we could take flight. The kind of flight with no mechanical means attached. Other than strapping a mini camera to a gull the next best thing is to look up, zoom in and click away. These masters of flight are amazing to watch. They can change direction in the blink of an eye, hover and soar with the wind currents. So instead of a bunch of pictures of seagulls on the ground, I decided to go "flying" with the gulls!
Changing direction.
Gaining altitude.
Closing in.
Wings up....tail spread.
Gull sees me!
This one sees me too!
Two gulls in flight.
Patio set atop the fishing vessel "Jenny G."!
Tug "Independence" and coastal cruise ship "American Glory"
Fishing on the dock.
Fishing in Harbor Cove.
"Osprey" and "Western Venture" sporting a new coat of paint.
Waiting for the fishing vessel "SS Melon III" to arrive.
"SS Melon III" listing from a heavy load of fish!
Schooner "Maine"
No matter how skilled a sailor you are, a vessel this big under sail is not a wise choice in the crowded inner harbor!
Sailboat narrowly missed fishing vessel "Capt. Novello"!

Great gull shots! Maybe one of these days my flying bird shots will improve. I have a tough time following them through the sky.
What is that guy thinking with his sails up? Kind of crazy!
One problem with gulls is a bright day! Those white feathers reflect light so much they wash-out many photos.
The sailboat....he was crazy & lucky ! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. There is just too many vessels large and small in a crowded area to blast through there with limited control.
