Some things go un-planned and today was no different. Today I had no clue on what content I was going to add to my blog. One thing I vowed I would never include is politics. But today I couldn't help myself. I think of all the ex-Gloucesterites living elsewhere that like a dose of what's happening now at home and that makes for a good reason to change my mind. With the vacant US senate seat of the late Teddy Kennedy up for grabs Martha Coakley and Scott Brown are battling it out. While I was driving through town I spot someone holding a flag on Commercial Street. "What....a parade this time of year?" I thought. So I headed over there to see what's going on. It turns out Martha Coakley was in the Chamber of Commerce and word got out to Scott Brown supporters who camped out front with their signs.
Later at the high school there was an ROTC drill competition going on with schools from all across the region. Friend Ed Collard told me about it earlier in the week and I almost forgot! I'm glad I made it...at least for part of it. It was a pleasure to see the precision and discipline shown by these fine young men and women.

You're smart not to get into politics...but it is your blog and you should be able to voice your opinion...at least use your rights while you still have them !!!
I just hope the best MAN wins !!!
Jay,
Thanks for taking the time to come to the High School to take some great shots of the fine young men and women of the JROTC. I'll make sure to pass the site info to those involved. Thanks Again, Ed
