The tide was perfect, you see my boat is in the mud at low tide and when I had the boat ready to go, there was just enough water to shove off. A cool brisk east wind greeted the schooners for the 25th annual Schooner Parade and races. Photography was a challenge, choppy seas and small sailboats everywhere you looked. My head was on a swivle watching out for wayward boaters gazing at the sights all around. Like magic no collisions as far as I could see.... dispite the jockeying of vessels large and small. I ended up taking almost 400 photos! More later,I got alot to do!
"Gateway Endeavor" heads out!

Wow Jay, you got some beautiful shots! It does look a bit choppy and I can imagine the challenge that brings to photography. Looks like you conquered it pretty well.
I was wondering, is this an annual even in Gloucester?
Sharon
Thanks Sharon! It wasn't just choppy,it was the spectator craft I had to watch out for! This event is in it's 25th year and keeps getting better and better!
Whoo-hoo, what a day. Keep the shots coming.
FANTASTIC! JAY ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC
Jay. I can see you had a fun weekend and captured the essence of this annual event so well.
Thanks for sharing this experience.
Cheers Frank.
Any pics of the collision between the Perception and the Spirit of Bermuda?
No pics of the collision,I here it happened at the starting line and I stay clear from that. I also hear the Perception boom was damaged along with a large dent in her steel hull.
Got pics of the Adventurer?
Adventurer? What size, color of hull? I didn't know all the names of the small schooners, perhaps it may be on my next post. And it may be on the newer posts. Click on the 3 seagulls at the top to bring you on the latest post.
