Capsized Boat & Crazed "Birders" !
The snow has fallen and I figured it would would be a good time to get some "pics". I headed to the breakwater when "birders from all over, even a couple from North Carolina started to gather. They were in search of the rare "Ivory Gull". The parking area next to the lighthouse was packed but I managed to find a spot near the keepers driveway. I headed to the breakwater to find a terrible sight,a capsized boat which was about 1/4 mile outside. It turned out to the the "clamshell boat" "Providenza",it overturned about 10:00 AM and both crewmen were saved by a passing boat. The boat was used to dump empty clamshells at sea.
"Providenza" right

Great, great shots, Jay!!! I especially love the one of GHB with the lighthouses all covered in snow.
Well "dun"!
It's easy when you got time on your hands!
Great shots Jay! BTW did they spot the famous gull?? I thought for sure you would have it there in the blog pictures!
Thanks Laura! Yes most there got "the shot" but myself I'm not a "birder". If it ain't in plain view my attention turns elswhere. Plus so many cars were heading in, I got out of there before I was "trapped"!
The commotion reminds me of last Christmas when there was a slaty backed gull at Niles Pond.
