You got to get to the fish because the fish won't come to you and over the past few overcast days it was easy to come upon several examples of fishing vessels past and present.
The "Spirit of Massachusetts" is a replica of a traditional 1889 Gloucester fishing schooner from the days of sail.
Launched in 1984 her overall length is 125'. When her main topmast is deployed it measures 100' above the waterline.
Close-up of her bowsprit.
Lobster boat "Dog & I" steams by.
Gill netter "Foxy Lady" and Egret.
"Foxy Lady" Captain Phil Powell.....He always smiles when he sees a camera!
Getting the rust stains out.
Dragger "Grace Marie" heads in to unload her catch.
In the fish hold of the "Grace Marie".
