Giant Bluefin Tuna brought in by the lobster/tuna boat "Lady J."!
Captain David Jewell and his crew traveled 153 miles offshore,18 hours of travel time to catch these monsters. Approx. weight 650lbs and 800lbs.... these took a combined 6 hours to land aboard their vessel. The larger one was so powerful, with the reel set at maximum drag the giant tuna still ran off line! They stopped by Captain Joe & Sons Lobster to show off their two monsterous prizes. Luckily I was there "shooting the breeze" with Joey and Frank when the "Lady J." pulled in. Joey the master of the blog Good Morning Gloucester got in some photos and a video of the catch of the day.
Frank checks out the giants!
