I never know when my work day begins or where to start until I get the call telling me what boat has sent out their trip end hail report. From dock to dock I go with my traveling hand held office setting up in a strategic location to view the weigh scales. The environment is fast and furious with fish being dumped onto the sorting table to be packed into totes according to market grade. Fork lifts and pallet jacks are in constant motion while dock workers perform in a ballet of ice and slime.
Landing on a piling.
Wings of Gloucester!
Slime Eel boats.
Coast Guard Station Gloucester.
Whale watch boat "Miss Cape Ann".
Dock repair at Cape Pond Ice.
Topping off a new piling.
"Sea Farmer II" leaves the ice dock.
Steaming away.
"Horizon" pulls in.
Unloading haddock.
Icing up fish.
Dock workers wait for "Sabrina Maria".
"Razzo" approaches the dock.
Hosing down the sorting table.
The day is done.

Very, very nice, Jay. You seem happy with your new job. That's wonderful.
So far so good Kathleen. It's much different from my past career in Quality Control. Gone is the daily pressure of looking for perfection in engineering and workmanship. Not being under the same roof all day is great too!
Looks like a good day on the docks!
Glad you're enjoying your new job, Jay. Change can be good sometimes!
