With as much as 7" of rain over the region the sun finally broke through late Tuesday afternoon. When I saw the ray of sunlight against my office wall I grabbed my camera and headed to the top of the hill behind my house to document the momentous occasion. In this light the city had that early 20th century industrial look!

Those are great photos!
I had to smile at your comment about the city having an early 20th century industrial look...I was thinking, would my 7th great grandfather, the Rev. John White (http://www.gloucestertimes.com/pulife/local_story_090225634.html His daughter Lucy, who married the Rev. Joseph "Handkerchief" Moody of Nat Hawthorne's tale, were my 6th great grands ) recognize his home town at all? :)
I am so glad that you have gotten some sun at last! I am also so glad I found your blog.
Thanks Beth!
You have some deep roots here! Roots that are drying out now!
It's nice to see & feel the sun for a change!
yikes so much water. I hope it recedes quickly. If you had damage please consider flood insurance and if the states gets fema to declares a disaster and you had damage you will be able to apply for assistance or reduced rate loans.
My word, can you even believe how nice it was today? And to think the next two days will be even nicer! I think we were one of the only ones in our neighborhood who didn't get water in.
I like the fog shot with the old posts sticking up out of the water. They're all good though. Isn't it great watching storm clouds burn off?
