Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Vacation's Past !

Vacation....Where to go? Over the years we tend to think big. Grand Canyon,Hoover Dam and Las Vegas. We've been there twice and every time it's an adventure. You see my wife and her family won't fly and I don't do trains! The last time we went I flew to Pheonix then a commuter plane to Flagstaff,Az. When I arrived in Pheonix it was 108 degrees! The commuter plane took off,circled the airport then the pilot announced:"Ladies & gentlemen we have a small problem, the nose gear is not locked and it won't retract"! "We will have to make an emergency landing back in Pheonix"!And that's what happened. We sat in the plane for almost an hour while ground crews slowly towed us back to the tarmac...108 degree heat and no AC! No other flights were scheduled to Flagstaff so I had to rent a car.I made it to Flagstaff just as the train rolled in then it was off to the hotel for the night. We get to the hotel and it's in the wrong side of town....a dive with abandoned cars in the parking lot! We then found a Marriot on the right side of the tracks.By this time all is hungry,across the street is a Denny's and we head over there. Done with our late dinner we head back to the hotel only to find police cars all over and a police helicopter overhead with it's spotlight blazing! It turns out the 7-11 store next to Denny's was robbed at gunpoint! So much for being on the right side of the tracks!
And last year a nice day trip is to Battleship Cove in Fall River,Ma. The kids loved it. They get to romp around the Battleship USS Massachusetts a destroyer a WWII sub and a Russian missle corvette.

Below the Pheonix Sky Harbor fire crews surround the plane as we came to a stop. These pictures actually came out better than expected through the scratched & dirty plexi-glass window.
