.....Marine Industrial Recreational....Marine Industrial is a term used lately when talking about uses for the harbor, but recreational usually is placed on the back burner.The fishing industry has always been on the top of the harbor food chain as far as harbor zoning is concerned. After all it's been the "bread & butter" of our economy since 1623.But with the down turn in fishable stocks with tight government controls the harbor is being choked by zoning constraint.There will always be a place for fishing concerns,as it should be.But all you have to do is see how alive the harbor is on any given summer weekend and realize that recreational uses can enhance our harbor's potential.

It drives me nuts that more people don't see that both uses can not only co-exist but enhance each other. The more activity both recreational and industrial on the harbor, the more need for water dependent services.
