Why I created this blog.

Born and raised in Gloucester,Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bikes! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. Artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas,I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!
I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Foggy Fiesta !

Fog..... and so was the event! The most un-organized Fiesta that I can remember! It's time to re-think the starting times for these events. With fog slowly enveloping the harbor, the Greasy Pole was interupted to run a seine boat race. Then the announcer had trouble keeping track of the grease walking contestants! I felt bad for those on the pole...it was cold! And being wet didn't help them.Perhaps someone on the platform with a walkie-takie would help! So as the time closed in on 8:00 pm I hauled anchor, before the winning walk! Even my nephew and his friend couldn't wait to get home!

Too bad about the fog --- but thanks for your great pictures. It has been very loud on my street and people were still partying and "Viva!"-ing when I went to bed at 2am. It's quite now but just wait till Mass is over!

VIVA SAN PIETRO!

Thanks, Jay!
