Sugar Coated!
It started out as wind and rain....lots of wind and rain. By 10:00pm the switch was on to snow. With the wet ground the snow took about 30 minutes to start to accumulate and when all was said and done a coating of 2" to 4" coated anything it stuck to. It was a good snow, pretty to look at while the snow blower stayed in the shed.

Almost Christmas!
Now officially winter, Christmas is on the door step. The last few days has been anything but Christmas weather but the weather gurus say we might have a white Christmas after all. From driving rain to mountainous seas the skies opened up to a beautiful late afternoon colorful sky.

The Past and Future!
Since the early 1860's the Tarr & Wonson Paint Factory has guarded the entrance of Gloucester's inner harbor at Rock Neck. Even earlier in 1859 the Rocky Neck Marine Railways has been repairing vessels ever since. Today the Paint Factory is going through a long rehab to become the world headquarters of Ocean Alliance. I stopped at both locations to see how different the Gloucester skyline has become with the addition of three "Glosta Monstas", Varian, Gloucester Engineering and The City of Gloucester wind turbines.

While at the Paint Factory I spot this dory with a sailing rig off Ten Pound Island. This would have been a common sight in the 1800's!
