The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

From City Hall to Gulls!!

Sunday at dusk I decided to head downtown and see if I could get some shots of City Hall. It was getting dark fast and as I approached Main Street when it hit me, I forgot my tripod! It's essential for slow shutter speeds that I was going to use. Not wanting to loose the available light by going home, I tried one shot placing the camera on the dashboard. Several I took of City Hall I carefully closed the drivers window onto my camera and used it as a clamp....It worked! The shot from Bank Gloucester I rested the camera on the bed of my pick up truck. A couple of days earlier I took other photos of City Hall while the fog was coming in. Then added images from past journeys around the harbor.

Fog, Sunset and a Super Moon!

I had planned to be at the Breakwater to photograph the Super Moon scheduled to rise at 7:49pm, but on the way I was stopped in my tracks. The sun was setting and I could see a fog bank approaching. My first thought....how cool but then figured rats, fog and moon don't match. So I spent some time at Pirates Lane taking in a peaceful tranquil time photographing an incredible sight. Then I looked at my watch and it was around 7:35 and figured I had time to get over to the Breakwater and try my luck with the Super Moon. While there I met some very nice couples from Beverly and Danvers that were there for the same reason as I was. With fog coming in and out the moon made one brief clear appearance and I clicked away.

That Time of Year....Boys of Summer & Brush Fires!

With dry and windy conditions the last 4 or 5 days the conditions are ripe for brush fires and vivid colors. Driving around Saturday looking for something to shoot I happened to see a Little League game at Wilson Field. It was opening day as the Giants and Marlins were playing. On Sunday about 6:00pm a call came in for a brush fire on Poles Hill. Normally I wouldn't go to cover a brush fire but the first responders said it was "ripping pretty good" and more man power was required. My in-laws home is close to where the fire was heading and I knew they weren't at home. Just in case I headed over there....with my camera. It's midnight as I prepare this post and over the scanner I hear that the fire rekindled. Firefighters are back on the job.
