Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

From Smith's Cove to Freshwater Cove !

I had more photos from last weekend and I had a few requests for Freshwater Cove.I only had a few of FW Cove,I would have had more but I was playing around with my broken lens and none were post worthy. I'm still bummed out about that lens!

Evie's Rudder No More !

What a shock! I had no clue as I slid through Smiths Cove past the Rudder Restaurant. You see The "Rudder" was my late aunt's buisness for many years,her pride & joy. Her place where she could be herself and entertain the patrons.Gone are the days of "Knuckles O'Toole" at the piano. Being graced with the likes of Judy Garland and Peter Faulk coming in for a bite. Sports luminaries such as Shaquille O'Neal "The Shaq" and coach Patrick Riley stopped in.But it looks like a new Rudder is taking shape. New memories for the new owners,I wish them well!

The Sun Under The Clouds !

Yesterday while my wife was cooking a steak dinner an orange glow was reflecting into my office. I couldn't resist,I grabbed the camera and ran out the door telling her I'd be right back. I headed down the street to Pirates Lane and as I was about to take the first picture I realized I had my broken 200mm zoom lens attached.Dummy me forgot to bring my camera bag so I could switch to the 55mm lens!No time to go home and get it,with the sun already below the horizon it's only a matter of minutes before it's too dark. So what I ended up doing is fidgeting the loose lens and hope for the best.

The Result of Boredom !

Every so often when I get bored I'll scan through my photo data base and look for something I missed. Well it's one of those times and I found a few that for some reason or another I skipped. I may take 50 or more pictures per trip and settle for 15 or so. And being on the water many are not aligned properly.It takes time to rotate and crop the way I like it. Some of these I first thought were simply no good. I guess you really need to take the time and look at things in a different light!
