Halloween "08" !

It was a mild evening for trick or treating so it was a trip to see the niece's & nephew's in costume. My grand niece Lily and grand nephew Mike had fun with their "little" St Bernard "Bear" while next door my nephew Seth with a new hair style holds "Lady Bug" "Bubbles". Seth's brother Noah "Minnie Mouse" was on hand while being entertained by "Gator" "Scuba"!

October Winds Down !

I was late....too late to catch the sun before it went below the horizon! I really wasn't planning to take any photos.Thursdays my wife takes her parents out of town to Bingo and I usually call in for a pizza at Maria's. I had just hung up the phone and looked outside.Though the sky didn't have that amazing look, there was that soft yellow to orange cloud whispers that at times maybe worthy. So with a 20 minute wait for my pizza I headed over to Niles Beach to see what was left of the sunset.
Oh....That's the Boston skyline, about 30 miles away as the gull flies!

Looking Back !

What I posted here are a few of my early photos. The fishing vessel "Two Friends" awaits the welders torch. She had been sunk dockside in Harbor Cove for several years when she was raised and brought here in East Gloucester. Her rigging and superstructure was removed, holes in the hull repaired and towed away. This was my very first picture taken with a digital camera!

All Wrapped Up !

Well.... she's out,it turned out to be a good day to "haul hull". My nephew Seth gave a hand and it took us maybe 3 minutes from when I landed her on the trailer to when I pulled away from the ramp. Timing is key,the tide was going down and if I arrived at the ramp 30 or so minutes later there wouldn't be enough water to tie up to the ramp floats. Also you need to powerwash the bottom while it's wet, otherwise that gunk will get concrete hard if allowed to dry. A fifteen minute ride home and it was still moist enough to powerwash off.

That's It ! Next Ride.... to the Ramp !

The season's over, The next time in the boat is to take her to the ramp and "haul hull"! New tarp is ready,I just hope the weather holds up. Well the tide was low and the temps were moderate and a steady breeze from the southwest. Good time to head up the Annisquam River and check out the foliage. And the City Hall tower wrapping is coming off. A new copper cap... she's looking good. The rebuilding of "The Rudder" is in full swing and the F/V Blacksheep was spotted heading to her winter dockage.
