24th Annual Gloucester Schooner Festival !

Perfect day for sail! Never have I seen sailing vessels as big as these schooners move so fast. With home town "Thomas E. Lannon" leading the Parade of Sail she flew through the harbor. Her along with the "Virginia" must have been doing 12-15 knots!
It was a challenge to get these pictures. I'm at the helm alone with what I call "weekend warriors" in vessels of all types criss crossing in every which way! Boat wakes made the harbor seem like being in a blender! I even dropped my camera when some yahoo decided to show off his horsepower and speed through the throng! Luckily no harm done.
