Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

Pie Eating to Seine Boats to Greasy Pole !

I decided to leave the boat in it's berth and walk the Fiesta. I'm glad I did because I stumbled upon a pie eating contest that all contestants had a blast competing in.

Greasy Pole Friday !

It was a day of drizzle and cold temps. The Friday Greasy Pole contest seemed to go on forever. The damp conditions played havoc with the walkers,rain soaked grease caused a few injuries. Not only was it a more challenging day for the walkers but wind driven drizzle fogged my lens while ever darkening skies didn't help.

That Time of Year !

The Fiesta is here! The annual St. Peter's Fiesta is when the city really lets loose and signals that summer is in full swing. The Fiesta honors the patron saint of the fishermen...St. Peter. It's a time when old friendships are renewed and contests on the water are fought.
