Hottest Week of the Year!

Boston broke a record on Sunday with a high of 100 f degrees but here on Cape Ann it topped off at 86 f degrees. It was the sea breeze factor kicking in. The brook behind my house is feeling the effects of the latest drought. I've been here since 1960 and never in my life have seen the brook stop flowing! It's down to a trickle. I use the brook as my emergency water source for my koi pond since the city tap water will kill the koi. Luckily I have a full rain barrel that when it does rain the overflow goes directly into the pond.

In the meantime I captured commercial fishing for pogies inside the outer harbor and different views of Good Harbor Beach.

Rainbows!

The other day I was at home late afternoon and it was raining. I noticed the sky was clearing to the west and decided to drive over to Good Harbor Beach and see if I could find the "pot of gold".

Earlier that day in the morning.

Left Over Fireworks!

I took 140 shots of last weeks fireworks and editing fireworks is no easy thing. Trying to pick them out using the thumb images is hit or miss due to the small size. What looks like a blank image can be a gem.

Natural and Man Made Fireworks!

Here in Gloucester the 4th of July is celebrated on July 3rd with a parade and a concert with fireworks on Stacy Boulevard. However a few days before Mother Nature provided the fireworks!
