Blizzard of "22" and Fox Network News Actually Reporting the Facts !

It wasn't the 41" Cape Ann got in the Blizzard of "69" but it was enough. Gusts approaching 80 mph created drifting snow.

Since I work the overnight shift my plan was to move my tractor from behind the house in her "plastic barn" and park it out front. I saved the draw string cover it came with and secured it, so I thought! When I arrived home the cover was gone! This was just when the storm was ramping up as I encountered white out conditions driving home. The it was to bed and wake up around 1 pm and begin plowing to keep up with the snow fall. By then the storm was at it's peak, the wind was brutal and I only managed to shovel the steps and a few feet into the yard so our dog has a place to "go". I did this about 7 or 8 times during the day. Sunday morning the sun was out but the temps were in the middle teens. I went to start the tractor and the battery was dead! No problem, when I bought the tractor back in 2019 I also purchased a jump starter power pack. It's powerful enough to start my truck or boat yet small enough to fit under the seat where the battery is, about the size of an average cell phone but twice as thick. The tractor works great for up to 12" to 15" of snow but is a struggle with this amount. Luckily my nephew next door used his snow blower to carve out key pathways. The good news, we never lost power!

While still at work a Fox News Network crew were setting up to report on the storm. The video crew set up the lights and camera in the garage of the Beauport Hotel while the reporter stood on the beach and actually reported the facts!.

Deep Winter Has Set In!

Though the days are getting longer the temps keep getting lower. When you see "sea smoke" you know the outside temperature is colder than the cold sea.
