Memorial Day Weekend Washout But I Still Launched the Boat!

You can blame me, I launched the boat Friday. As soon as I entered the harbor the rain started and hasn't stopped! But my long wait to get back on the water is finally over. Still no current Massachusetts boat registration and I'm going on 3 weeks since I sent the paperwork in! All Mass recreational registration offices are closed due to the pandemic and the only way to get a new boat registration is by mail. I was told as long as I carry copies of the paperwork I should be fine. Also the boat still has a current sticker from the previous owner. It was time to get this lawn ornament where it belongs.

Ready to roll.

The bridge is up and I wait! I waited this long, a few more minutes is nothing!
Just launched.
The boat looks strange with the top down!

Still waiting to get on the water!

In the meantime I'm relegated to taking photos on shore. The boat is just about ready, new VHF antenna installed and the previous owner for some reason installed the stereo upside down! That has been corrected but I discovered the bimini top leaks! I treated it with a water proofing spray and it works, It rained Saturday and it stayed dry inside. New batteries installed and all pumps and electronics function as does the engine power tilt. I fired up the engine and she  started right away. I also have new dock lines and a back up anchor with chain and line. Now the only hang up is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Due to covid all their recreational registration offices are closed! The only way to register a boat is by mail. They say 15-18 days is the turn around time, I sent the paperwork out a week ago. Oh, and the name of the boat has been applied.

All cleaned up.
