Tranquility and Stupidity!

We had a mix of bad and good weather here but a reminder for those who wish to see the savage sea close up. Though awe inspiring Mother Nature can and does take the foolish away! Every year we hear of someone getting too close to the surf and being carried away and lost. This week I saw someone tempting Mother Nature. Early in the morning I was probably the only one to witness this foolish act, and only because I was looking through my 300mm telephoto lens. I was too far to warn him and with the roar of the pounding surf I doubt he could hear my trucks horn. All I could do is watch and hope he backed off. Luckily he did.

Breaker moving in.
A foolish soul almost gets swallowed up!
 He runs away!
 He's still too close.
 After this he retreats.
 Brace Rock
 Wind and waves.
 Bass Rocks breaker.
 A soft sunrise.
 Clouds block the sunrise.
 Early morning jog.
 A closer look.
 Tranquil Gloucester Harbor.
The Paint Factory and Ten Pound Island Light.
