From a Nor'easter To Nice!

A pretty nasty Nor'easter hit us during the week. High winds and 6" of rain brought down trees, flooded roadways and caused scattered power outages. While working the midnight shift I noticed torrents of water cascading under the doors into the garage. After inspection I discovered the drains were clogged with leaves. It required three trips during the night to keep the drains clear. My ride home, normally 25 minutes was actually 1 hour and 10 minutes due to flooded roads, downed trees and heavy and I mean HEAVY traffic! Other than a downspout pulling away from my house, we survived just fine. But a tree toppled into a clearing I created for the dogs in the nearby woods.......Nobody heard it fall!

Late Afternoon Until Dusk!

Sometimes I get the urge to shoot late afternoon into dusk which I did the last few days. With the days getting shorter and cooler this is the time of year I was deep into football for 20 years. That's how long I coached high school football and never really had the chance to admire the Fall colors.

Blood Moon & Early Fall Colors!

Many images I post happen by chance, that's what happened this past week when I stumbled on the "Blood Moon". Seeing a pretty good sunset brewing I headed to the Boulevard to see if I could capture the sunset behind the Fishermen's Memorial. Stuck in slow traffic I could see I might get there too late. Sure enough the best of the sunset had passed but I did get a couple of descent shots. On my way home I hoped there might be enough light at Good Harbor Beach to capture the pink/orange clouds. As soon as the beach came into view I knew I was too late, darkness was taking over. As I drove past the footbridge there it was, the "Blood Moon" rising behind Salt Island. I never had a clue but there it was.

I didn't notice people on Salt Island until I downloaded this!
Here it is in the true light.
I had to adjust the contrast to bring out the surroundings.
