Gulls and Stuff!

Some day go down to the waterfront and watch the gulls. You'll be amazed at their grace as they swoop, glide and dance in the sky. I'm no bird watcher but couldn't help appreciate the way they command the sky and for years took them for granted.

Fog, Waves and Sunsets!

Fog can be magical depending on the subject while storms have their own character. Sunsets over a body of water is hard to beat but they all have their own challenges.

Hurricane Irene August 28 2011 !

After reviewing some of my files I came across images from Hurricane Irene I took back on 8/28/11. The storm brushed our coast providing an awesome show of power. We were lucky, only a few trees were toppled, minor flooding and sporadic power outages effected Cape Ann. It's always good to remind us all that Mother Nature can surprise and put peoples lives in danger. Never tempt her and always be aware of your surroundings. High surf can sweep the unexpected away and can pelt you with large rocks and debris. All these images were shot with a telephoto lens from a safe distance.

Back at the Beach !

I just think of all those missed days before I was into photography and never appreciated the light here on Cape Ann. There's making up to do and  the second weekend in a row we had another one of those perfect timing conditions. Though a small T-storm pretty much missed us it did leave it's calling card with a rainbow and pastel skies at sunset. All these photos were taken in less than two hours time.
