Last Entry of 2010 !

I struggled to find a title for my last entry of 2010....so there it is!
I was going to do a year in review but got lazy. And here I am a little older maybe a bit wiser and I still haven't hit the lottery! Perhaps I should mention my New Years resolution, but after a few weeks I always forget what it was so that's out. One thing I'd like to know.....Who had the brilliant idea to start a new year in the dead of winter anyway? They must be from the southern hemisphere! If I had any say the new year would be the first day of Spring!

So with that I wish everyone a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Blizzard of 2010 !

It wasn't the biggest snow fall nor did it do as much damage as past storms but it did leave a mark here along the coast. Over 5000 Gloucester customers lost power, luckily I wasn't one of them. But the storm did hit close to home. A large maple tree next to my boat split and missed it!

Glad my boat is on the other side!

Santa Claus over Cape Ann !

I did it! With the help of a good friend in Scotland I managed to not only capture Santa flying in his sleigh over Gloucester but over Rockport too! You see Scotland is 6 hours ahead of us and my friend left a note for Santa to ask him to slow down enough to do a fly-by photo shoot over Cape Ann and he did! First I set up my camera at the Rocky Neck Marine Railways and just before total darkness saw him whizzing by.
Santa was looking for homes where the children were fast asleep before he lands and brings them their presents. So I figured since it was still early maybe I could capture him over Rockport too. From T Wharf I got a good view and clicked just when Rudolph's head turned towards me, boy that red nose of his is really bright!
