From Cape To Cape !

The only other time I have been to Cape Cod was to coach a high school football game. Off the bus onto the field then back on the bus. This time it was for training for certification to become a Dockside Monitor. The Dockside Monitor documents the offload of the fish at the dock to help assure the sector quota does not exceed catch limits per species. The training was thorough and interesting, I thought I knew my fish! I knew most but the subtle differences in several species of both Flounder and Skate was an eye opener. I stayed and studied in Falmouth while the instruction took place in Woods Hole. So after many exams, homework, studying and handling alot of dead fish I became certified. With all the study work load I didn't have much time for photography, the weather wasn't the best either.

Time For Change !

I'm going back to school...well sort of! I'll be away to Woods Hole on Cape Cod(The other cape) for a few days for certification training to become the Port of Gloucester Dock Monitor. I will be monitoring the unloading of fish and documenting the weight of each species landed. After over 30 years in the aerospace/military/medical industries involved in Quality Control, this will be a departure of that career. But I'm looking forward to a new challenge. Growing up as a "wharf rat", this new career should be interesting.

This series is from the past week and some images I didn't include in past posts.

Another Day...Another Rainbow !

What a surprise it was to see a rainbow while driving down the street! I mean there was no clue that the conditions were right at the time. No rain at all today and there it was like some higher authority decided.... ok,lets put a rainbow there! Rain offshore is what was going on as Mother Nature put on a display for the landlubbers.
