Preventing An Explosion & Too Much Rain !

Today the ground is saturated, basement pumps are working overtime as we are again pelted with heavy rains. On Monday an oxygen tank and acetylene tank caught fire inside the Carter's Yacht Yard building at the Rose's Marine property. Another "good stop" by the Gloucester Fire Department prevented a major explosion and fire.

A Little Essex and Gloucester !

The other day as I drove through Essex that red barn along the way caught my eye and I had to pull over and take a few shots. And a sure sign of Spring is the launching of the sailboats used for Gloucester's youth sailing programs.

Boats and Sand !

In New England the early Spring can bring extremes. Yesterday it topped off at 60 degrees while today struggled to reach 40 degrees. There was snow in the morning but a beautiful sunset capped off the day.

A Coast Guard Boarding and 2009 March Sunset !

With rain and drizzle the last few days I stumbled on a boarding of the fishing vessel "Bantry Bay" by the USCG 47'MLB. Also a few other harbor subjects. Then I decided to go back to this week in 2009 and bring back a few sunset images.
