First Home Game in 2 years !

Manchester /Essex High School Hornets haven't played a "home" game since the old field was ripped up to build a new school. Nomads sharing Endicott College and Gloucester High School it was time to come home! With the help of the Manchester/Essex Gridiron Club, the athletic department and the town's DPW a "Turkey Day" home was created. Brook Street playground which is the practice field has a new surface and with the old scoreboard propped up on a flatbed trailer and Essex Radio's speaker truck, it was ready to play. The field was re-dedicated to honor long time football coach and mentor Ed Field. His wife was on hand to do the coin toss. And the outcome would put a big smile on Coach Field's face. Georgetown coming in with a 8-1 record and Manchester/Essex with a 10-0 record. Manchester/Essex won going away 40-21! A triumphant day on Coach Ed Field Field!
