The Japanese defense forces couldn't stop Godzilla.....I captured the beast!
Spied this over Route 128 on my way home from work. Dirty windshield and strong sun glare I had to darken the image and crop out the sun. That's the only edit to what's probably my worse quality image. I figured some would get a kick out of it so I posted the pic on facebook. A few shares later it's gone world wide! Who would of thunk it?

Why I created this......

Born and raised in Gloucester, Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. For that reason artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!

I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

A Day On The Dock !

With a job that bounces me from dock to dock the view can even make winter a little bit more tolerable. This day the temps were in the mid 30's with little wind and plenty of harbor activity.

From January to April !

For this post we go from the present....cold snowy January and travel back in time to April of 2010. I could go back to summer but April just doesn't seem as far away in the future. Something to look forward to. Did I write that? Let's see....going into the past to see what may be in store for the future. OK...give me a break it's 2:33am!
The April shots are a little different from the images I posted back in April "10".

It's Winter....Get Over It !

As I assemble this post the snow is coming down at a pretty good clip. I'm looking out the window and I can see the trees lit by a street light thrashing about in 40+mph winds. And over the police scanner the police are wondering why the DPW is not plowing yet! This gets me to remember the Blizzard of 1969 , a localized blizzard where Cape Ann was hammered with 41" of snow! While the rest of the region dealt with half the snowfall as we did, I'll never forget it's impact. With Cape Ann sticking out into the ocean we were hit with ocean effect snow that required the Army National Guard to bring in heavy equipment to clear the streets. We were without power for two weeks, no school for two weeks and through it all it was neighbor helping neighbor. We had snow drifts reaching the second floor and had to use the back door just to get out of the house. Forget about using your car yet the streets were alive with people walking, using skis, pulling sleds to haul the groceries home.

More.....Paint Factory !

I figured I post a few more from the Tarr & Wonson Paint Manufactory before it's transformed into it's new life. Over 120 years of paint splatter! And to clear up the notion that the "new" structure will be painted yellow.....It will be red!
