Born and raised in Gloucester,Ma fishing gets in your blood. Surrounded by the sea, kids here have a boat almost as much as kids elsewhere have bicycles! As I grew older my fishing ambitions gave way to what's around me. Although I still "drop a line" every so often, my attention wanders to the majesty of the natural light that make this place so special. Never is each day the same. The subjects may be the same but the light from the sea & sky will morph the subject into a form of art. Artists have been drawn to these shores for several hundred years, they followed the light painting and sketching these surroundings. What artists capture with paint on canvas, I attempt to capture with a click.....if I'm lucky!
I guess that's a sort of Fish'n!

More of a steady rain today and the pot holes filled with water make traveling hazardous. Too bad land vehicles don't have depth sounders onboard, they would come in handy on days like this!
Rain off and on through out the day and that's what I had to do...dodge the rain drops. I would get to one location and the skies would open up. Get back on the road and find another spot as the rain let up and shoot. Then it was back on the road and so on. Today I focused on the Rocky Neck Marine Railways and the Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center.
Fog along the coast, that's what the weathermen said and that's what we got! One of those weather happenings that paint a different picture on the waterfront. To photograph days like this presents challenges. Over exposure is easy to do in these conditions and additional "tweaking" of brightness and contrast is a must.
